Business Performance Dashboard
A business intelligence project combining sales data from SQL Server and SharePoint, then modelling it in Power BI to explore performance by product, customer and transaction. A paginated report provides transaction-level detail.

Combining the sales data
The project started with a SQL Server database. Sales data was imported from CSV chunks into individual tables, then combined into a Transactions table using UNION ALL. The original project describes five CSV chunks, with two additional sales files hosted on SharePoint. Separate CSV files were also loaded for Customers and Products.
The approach brought sales records from the database and SharePoint into one analytical dataset.
Reusable source configuration
In Power Query, a parameter was used to define a source path and reuse it when loading different tables. The two sales CSV files stored on SharePoint were loaded and appended to the Transactions table originating from SQL Server. The original article notes that the source data required minimal transformation beyond promoting the first row to headers.
A star-schema model
The loaded tables were modelled in Power BI with the Transactions fact table connected to the Customers and Products dimensions. This star-schema structure supports analysis of business performance across products, customers and transactions.
